Potty Training

I am so excited to report that Andrew is pretty much potty trained!!!! I thought this day would never come. He was not an easy kid to potty train. We tried two other times before this time with no success. We tried stickers, treats, and fun undies and he was not ready. We decided to go cold turkey to the undies over the Christmas holiday. A whole month later we never turned back and we are finally here!! He really struggled with #2. We haven't had an accident in a week! He wears undies during the day and a pull up while he is sleeping. This time around we gave him a pez everytime he peed and a small toy if he went #2. I was so worried that he would expect something everytime he went to the bathroom until he was 16, but he already forgets about the pez. Now that he has the #2 down he does not get a toy and he doesn't seem to care. Over the past month we have started a collection of pez dispensers.

I am so proud of him!!!

 

16 Weeks

Time for an update on Baby #2! I am finally in the second trimester and starting to feel better. I was so surprised at how tired I was in the first trimester. I have most of my energy back and I am not nauseous anymore!! My appetite is back in full swing!! Here is a picture from 12 weeks and then a picture at 16. The baby bump is starting to make an appearance!

 

Total weight gain: +4 lbs

I am really hoping this doesn't get as high as my first pregnancy!!

 

Gender: We find out next week!! Everyone I have talked to says they think it is a girl. I think it is a boy. We will see!!

 

Movement: Last week I started feeling some small movements. It is still very random. Can't wait until it is more regular.

 

Sleep: Not great. My nose has been stuffy and I hate sleeping on my side. I had to bust out the body pillow.

 

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach

 

Cravings: 1st trimester was cottage cheese which is so weird! This week has been fruit and pickles, but not together :) The pickles have to be the sliced kind that go on hamburgers. For some reason I think they taste better.

 

Best moment this week: Feeling some very random kicks from the baby. Also, we started making room for two!! We bought a bigger car and a double sit and stand stroller!! Can't believe we are already buying stuff but the deals were too good to pass up.

 

I will try to update every few weeks so I don't overwhelm you with pregnancy overload.

 

Snow Day

After Christmas we got our first big snow! Last year we had no snow so Andrew never got a chance to play in the snow. This snow was perfect because Mark was home and we had no reason to leave the house. Andrew, Mark, Grandma, and Grace went outside to play in the snow. While they were out there they decided to build a snow fort. Here are some pictures of their fun.

 

Big Blessings for 2013!!!

We have some very exciting news for the new year...

We are having a baby!!! The baby is due at the beginning of July. We feel so blessed because we have been waiting for this baby for a long time! Andrew is super excited to be a big brother. He already said he thinks it is a sister. We will see! I am so excited to see what 2013 holds for us.

Merry Christmas/Sickmas!!

Of course, I was super excited for Christmas this year! Christmas Eve started like any other year until I started to feel that little sore throat. Andrew had been sick the whole week prior and was still a little sick. I knew I was doomed! We went to church that night and I feel like during that service I went from little sore throat to full blown cold :( The worst part was that I couldn't take anything for my cold. We were able to sneak a family pic in after church.

Andrew still had a blast Christmas morning. He was so excited to see his gifts and to see the milk and cookies were gone. He makes the holidays so much fun. He played with his toys all day. My mom came to visit that night and stayed for a few days. Unfortunately, I was sick for the majority of her visit.

Mark's parents also came to visit after my mom left. They stayed for the weekend. Andrew had fun playing with all of the grandparents.

Christmas may not have gone the way I imagined it but I still enjoyed being with my family.

 

A Visit With Santa

This years visit with Santa went much better than last year! This Santa does such a good job!! Andrew was so excited to meet him and when we left he couldn't stop talking about it.

 

Andrew Turns 3!!

Time to get the blog caught up. December is such a busy month for us. I am really looking forward to the next couple months because there isn't too much on the agenda. One of our huge December highlights is Andrew's birthday. This was such a fun year for Andrew. He seemed to talk about his birthday party the whole month leading up to it. He had to have a Thomas birthday party. He had such a great day and we are so blessed to have so many people that help made his day special. A big shout out to Bev for making Andrew's birthday shirt!!

On Andrew's real birthday we met up with the Carter family at the indoor play ground for a little bit and then stopped at Starbucks for a treat! The girls gave Andrew a snowman cookie and that made his day. That night he got to open his presents from us.

Andrew also had a special birthday celebration at school. We brought cupcakes for the class to share. Andrew got a little gift from his teachers and a special crown. He loves his teachers!

Andrew has started potty training again this week so stay tuned on that. At his three year appointment he weighed 33 pounds was 37.5 inches tall. This year I decided to start a tradition of asking Andrew a few birthday questions. I am so glad I decided to do this because Andrew's answers cracked me up! Note: These are Andrew's responses word for word.

2. What is your favorite toy? Lightening McQueen, Finn McMissile, and Francesco

3. What is your favorite food? Milk and ketchup and hot dogs

6. What is your favorite sport? Football, baseball, basketball, and soccer ball. I responded, which one is your favorite. He says, "football, baseball, basketball, and soccer ball! They are all my favorite balls!"

7. What is your favorite snack? Fruit snacks!

9. What is your favorite song? Old McDonald Had A Farm

10. What is your favorite book? Cars 2

11. Who is your best friend? Case and Ty

Love this kid!!! So blessed to have him in my life.
