Soccer

Andrew started his first sport!  Daddy is a pretty big fan of soccer and I think it has rubbed off on Andrew.  The World Cup also helped too!  Andrew loved watching all of the games.  Here is Andrew in his official uniform.  We have to give a big shout out to Aunt Jessie!!!  She has hooked Andrew up with all of his awesome soccer gear.  Thank you Aunt Jessie for keeping us looking good!!!  You're the best!

Before I get too far into this whole soccer experience I have to address something.  When I was younger I always said I would never be a soccer mom :)  Just like I would never have a kid throwing a tantrum anywhere in public, I would never have a crusty face kid, or a snotty nose kid...hahahahaha!!!!  As I was about to get out of the car at Andrew's first soccer practice, I looked around and noticed lots of mini vans...I hit the "soccer mom" brick wall.  I'm not sure that I am a "soccer mom" but I am a mom of a boy who plays soccer!?  Is there even a "soccer mom" now? I probably am a soccer mom-I have 2 boys and another baby on the way, my kid loves soccer, I love target, Starbucks, I take my kids on play dates...but I don't have a van or family stickers on the back of my car :) Let's get real, the van and the family stickers are probably right around the corner!!! One of the best lessons I have learned from having kids is to go with it and make sure my kids are having fun.  So if it's soccer he picks, then soccer it is!  

Glad I got that off my chest!  Haha!!  I have loved watching Andrew play soccer this past month.  Each day he learns more and gets better.  He has an awesome team and the parents are all so positive!!  I love that!!  Andrew actually ended up with a friend on his team and Mark ended up being the assistant coach.  I was pretty surprised he didn't want to be the coach.  Andrew has had a few fans come see him play.  Mema and Papa came out to see him and were lucky enough to see him score a goal!!  Our cousins, Eric and Lisa, came out with their girls too.  Andrew loves to see his family and friends cheering him on.  Here are some pictures from the first few practices.

Andrew Starts Pre-K

Andrew started his first day of Pre-K a couple weeks ago.  This year he is going to a new school that is at our church.  The only reason we switched him is so that he is in our school district.  I must say that we loved his old school!!!  His new school at Plainfield Christian is definitely more structured and geared towards preparing them for Kindergarten.  So far he loves it!!  His teachers are Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Lamb.  He has so many friends in his class and has met a few new friends already.  He has two friends he talks about a lot that like to play ninja turtles with him.  As most of you know, the way to Andrew's heart is ninja turtles.  Andrew seems to come home everyday telling me about all of the stuff he is learning.  They are also doing a memory verse each month.  I love watching him recite his memory verse!!

I can't believe that he will be in Kindergarten next year!!  Makes me sick just thinking about it!  I will be a mess for sure!

20 Weeks...Half way!!!

This pregnancy is going by so fast!!  It is much different being pregnant with a 14 month old than a 3 year old.  Lucas goes 100 mph from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed.  I am physically drained by dinner time.  Thank God Mark is an amazing help once he gets home from work!!  We had our ultrasound at 18 weeks and everything looks healthy!!  It is always so reassuring to have that ultrasound.  As far as preparing for baby we have done nothing.  Am I crazy or what?!  You would think we have everything after 2 but that is not the case.  Having these babies so close means I need two of some things (ex. crib, crib mattress, monitor, double stroller, etc).  So I guess in preparation for baby #3 I have made a list of what we need and it isn't pretty.

Size of Baby and Mama: Baby is supposed to be the size of a banana which would be about 10.5 ounces and about 10 inches long.  I have gained about 8 lbs.  Maternity clothes are so annoying right now because they are too big, but most regular clothes are too small.  The shirt I am wearing in this picture looks kind of ridiculous but it was comfortable :)

Gender/Names: We did not find out at the ultrasound!  I can't believe we didn't find out.  I did think I saw a boy part at one point during the ultrasound.  I am no ultrasound tech, but after seeing 2 boy ultrasounds I am pretty sure I saw it.  Mark and I did turn our heads when she told us to, but I think she accidentally got a little too close to the gender.  My vote is still boy, especially after that.  We have no girl or boy names picked out yet.

Movement: I am feeling the baby move a lot more now.  Mark actually got to feel it this week.  The baby's feet are down so all of the kicks are pretty low.

Sleep: Sleep is pretty good right now.  My left knee and back hurt right now so sometimes I wake up with one or both hurting.  Can't complain too much because I know it could be worse.

What I miss: Feeling well rested.  I have MAJOR pregnancy brain.  I feel dumber by the minute.

Cravings: Salty snacks are still #1 (another reason I think it's a boy). I went through a giant bag of pistachios in no time.  I was craving pies a few weeks ago and I have been loving cuties (small oranges) again.  I also craved those with Lucas.
