Fall/Halloween Festivities

Here is one big blog post of all of our fall fun.  Between being pregnant with baby #3 and chasing 2 active boys around...I am exhausted!!  I am proud to say we did make it to the pumpkin patch, the zoo, and carved pumpkins!!!  Yay!  I love all of the fun things to do with the kids this time of year.

We took a quick trip to the pumpkin patch one afternoon.  I really wanted to get a good picture of the boys sitting with the pumpkins.  Instead I got a picture of the boys sitting together with some spoons :) I will take what I can get.  Getting a picture with both boys looking at me is hard enough.  You can forget about them both smiling!  I am going to have to learn Photoshop fast once we have 3!!  Either way the boys had fun climbing on hay bales and playing in the corn box!

The spoons are from the corn box

So sweet

I think we need a corn box in our back yard

Love those blue eyes!!

I had to include this picture.  This was the beginning and end of me trying to get pictures of the boys by the pumpkins.  Lucas ended up muddy and crying.  Not worth it!!
Our next stop that day was Zoo Boo.  The boys did their traditional trick or treating around the zoo.  The boys looked so cute in their costumes and Lucas really loves to see the animals now.

What did I tell you...never both smiling!

Trick or treat

Lucas doing his first trick or treating

Lucas could have watched this tiger all night!! Every time the tiger walked by he would laugh and growl at it.

Picture is a little blurry but had to post it

That tiger has got nothing on this tough ninja turtle!!

A few nights ago we decided to carve our pumpkins, which all came from Meijer because they are cheaper and the line to check out at the pumpkin patch was probably 30 people long!!  Andrew was super excited!!  The hard part about this age is that the parent ends up doing all of the carving.  I think this year is the first time Andrew was willing to dig out the pumpkin guts.  It was totally worth it because Andrew loves his ninja turtle pumpkin!!

Daddy showing Andrew how to properly clean out the pumpkin.

Lucas just kind of watched from his highchair

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!  Trick or treat post to follow!

Lucas's First Trip to the Dentist

Lucas took his first trip to the dentist last week.  I actually made their appointments at the same time which seemed kind of crazy, but I really don't want to have to take them on separate days.  I had Mark come with me this time because I wasn't sure if Andrew would get x-rays.  I wouldn't be very helpful during an x-ray being pregnant.

Lucas had no idea what was coming his way.  We had the choice to hold him or lay him on the chair.  I decided to try the chair to see how he would do.  Here was his reaction to that...

He was a little unsure!

He really didn't like the fact that we couldn't pick him back up.
He didn't love the brushing part but he wasn't totally screaming and he didn't bite anyone. I would say it was a success!!  As soon as I picked him up he was totally fine.  The dentist said everything looked great.  I am always nervous to take the kids to the dentist, but this appointment gave me hope :)  My kids do better at the Dr than they do at the dentist.

Andrew did amazing!!!  There were no tears and he was very brave!  He went in the big open room with the big kids.  I was so proud of him!  It also helps that the ladies are so great with the kids.  As I was making the next appointment I realized that I would have 3 kids with me at that one!!

24 Weeks

This post is a little late considering I just started my 26th week.  Oh well, better late than never.  My baby bump definitely went through a little growth spurt since my last post.

Size of Baby and Mama: Baby is supposed to be the size of an ear of corn!?  These food references are so weird!!  The baby should be around 1.5 pounds and about a foot long!!  I have gained about 15 lbs.  I did have a Dr appointment this week.  For some unknown reason my belly was measuring 30 weeks!!  The Dr didn't seemed concerned at all and thinks the baby just had a growth spurt.  I just hope everything is measuring a little more normal at my next appointment in 2 weeks.  We will see!  I will definitely give an update on that on my 28 week post.  Otherwise, everything else at the appointment looked great!

Gender/Names: I did go out and buy a girl outfit the other day.  The last week or so I was starting to get a girl vibe, but now that I am measuring big I am thinking boy again.  Some boy names we are liking lately are Lincoln, Elijah, Ethan, Evan, and Roman.  Remember, all of that can change!!  Girl names are so much harder for me and I have no idea why.  Maybe it is because I am destined to have all boys!  :)

Movement: I am still feeling a lot of movement.  Last weekend we had a little family movie night and the baby was moving like crazy.  I asked Andrew if he wanted to feel and he surprisingly said yes.  As soon as he rested his hand on my belly the baby kicked so hard you could have seen it from across the room.  Andrew thought it was cool!!  Of course, it made me teary eyed.  I thought it was the sweetest thing.  It is cool that Andrew is so excited for this baby!

Sleep: Sleep is good right now!  I just need to stop falling asleep on the couch at night!!  It is no fun going up to bed in the middle of the night.

What I miss: Clothes fitting

Cravings: Pistachios, peanuts, chocolate chip cookies.  Weird!!

Lucas is 15 Months

My little baby is such a toddler now.  This little guy brings so much joy to our lives. It is hard to remember life without him.  He has such a great little personality that fits perfect with our family.  At his 15 month appointment he weighed 27 lbs 10 oz (95th percentile) and was 34 inches long!!!  His height and head are off the charts.  The good news is that his head stayed the same size between 12 and 15 months.  He is a big boy!!!  Lifting a 27 pound baby around while being pregnant is a workout!!

Lucas has turned into quite the little dare devil.  I guess I had it coming because Andrew is the most careful, calculated kid I know.  Lucas is opposite!!  I can't even begin to start to explain the situations this kid gets himself into.  I have started taking pictures of his crazy adventures :)  I should have known I was in trouble when he started pulling out the outlet covers.  It is hard to go anywhere now that is not child proofed.  We stole a nickname from the show Big Brother for Lucas, Beast-Mode Cowboy.

Hmmm...I guess he isn't into art

This seems like a great idea!

"This is where I sit when we go to the store"

"How do I get out of this thing?!"

He always looks so proud of himself when I catch him standing on things

"Mom, found that wrench you were looking for..."
Lucas is so sweet and loves to give kisses and blow kisses.  He still loves music and loves to dance.  I really need to get a video of him dancing.  He plays with Andrew's toys most of the time and will play with anything that is not a toy.  He tried coloring recently and ended up eating a crayon.
As far as talking goes we are a little behind.  He says Andrew, all done, sometimes Mama and Dada, and he can sing Let it Go, Let it Go.  Don't ask me how he picked that up!  He mostly just screams to get what he needs.  I am hoping and praying that he starts saying more words soon.  The Dr doesn't seem to be worried because he still understands simple directions.  The Dr said he was also impressed with how social he was for a 15 month old.  During his appointment Lucas walked right over to Dr. Cosgrove and sat on his lap.  It was so cute!!  The Dr did say if he doesn't improve on his speaking by his 18 month appointment then we might need to see a speech therapist.  I also found out at this appointment that Lucas is a little bow legged!!!  The Dr said that he will probably grow out of that and not to worry.  It can't be that bad because it wasn't on my little handy list of questions for the Dr. We recently had another swallow study done and found out that Lucas is doing much better with liquids.  They didn't see him aspirate anything he drank at the study!!  That is such a relief!!  We still have to watch him to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Bed Head

Legos!!!

Not sure if this was before or after he took a bite of a yellow crayon

Dressing up like a cow for Chick Fil A Day with my BFF!!

"Who needs toys when you have a puffs container?!"

Another thing to remember at 15 months is how messy they are when they eat!!  This kid knows how to make a huge mess at meals.   I need a cleaning lady that can just come and clean up after meals.  We have moved him from the high chair to the table in a little booster seat.  He has started using a plate and a fork but is still getting the hang of it all.  He loves his milk and we have dropped the night time bottle.  He eats most things, but if something better comes to the table he will immediately spit out what is in his mouth.  He doesn't like strawberries and eggs for sure.  He loves bread, cheese, yogurt, goldfish crackers, and chicken nuggets.  He always likes to drink water from Mommy's cup but spills it all over himself.

Trying to eat a PB&J like a big boy

Taco Tuesday!!!

"You're supposed to keep the food on the plate?"

Lucas keeps this family on our toes and we love him more than words can say.  I love his smile and all of his looks.  I love that he can have a whole conversation with you and you have no idea what he just said.  I love that he waves and smiles at strangers, most of the time.  I love how much he adores his older brother!!!  I love that he tries so hard to make things work.  I love his cuddles in the rocking chair right before bed!!

Love these 2!!!! So sweet!!

Andrew loves to climb in the crib with Lucas every morning

I think we look a like :)
