Sick Little Man

What a week! My little man has been sick all week. Of course this happens to be the week that we had lots of play dates, a birthday party, and the weather was amazing. This was really his first time being sick. We have been battling a bad cough since Tuesday with a runny nose. He also had some type of stomach bug on Tuesday and Wednesday. I felt so bad for him. He just laid around on the couch and slept. He usually only takes his paci in bed, but for this we needed it all day.

I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

He is still sleeping a lot! He slept last night from 8:00pm to 9:00am. Yesterday we finally got out of the house and went for a walk through the neighborhood. He is definitely getting better, but he still has a nasty cough and runny nose. Mark and I are just trying to stay well. I think we both have a cold coming on from him, but nothing major. I will say that Andrew was very cuddly all week and I loved that part!! I will also note that cleaning up puke never gets easier even when it is your own child.

We are hoping for a better week!!

A visit back home!

This past weekend we were able to take a relaxing trip back to Cincinnati. Usually when we go back it is crazy busy with weddings, showers, or dinners. Not that those aren't amazing, but it gives little time to just hang out. I was able to see a few friends from high school. It is so hard to see everyone I want to see when I come home for a weekend. I miss everyone from home so much.

Two of my friends from high school also have babies right now and we all got together for breakfast. We ate at Skips, which is where we would all meet up after school to hang out. It was so much fun. Too bad Drea wouldn't be in the picture, so her husband was lucky enough to take her place.

Snow Days

This past week Indy has been hit hard with crazy weather. Andrew and I really didn't leave the house the whole week. We did go to the store and that is about it. I think we are both ready for the spring.

At the beginning of the week we had two days of ice. It seemed like everything was closed except for Mark's work. Thank God he made it to and from work each day safely. This was our view out of the majority of our windows.

Yesterday we woke up to about two inches of snow and it continued to about four to five inches. We decided to make the best of the weather and take Andrew out to play in the snow for the first time.

Things seemed to be going well...

Until Andrew went face first in the snow.

After he realized how cold the snow was, he wasn't a big fan.

I will say that it was pretty slippery out there with all of the ice under the snow. I think I fell at least three times. I was really hoping the neighbors were not watching. There is no way to slip on ice and fall gracefully.

Here are a few more pictures of Andrew from this week.

Mommy and Daddy's night out!

Mark and I were very fortunate enough to go on a date for my birthday. My mom came to town and watched Andrew for us. We went to one of my favorite restaurants, The Melting Pot. It was so nice to spend some time baby free. Not that we didn't miss him like crazy, but we needed a little Tracey and Mark time.

Andrew's 12 Month Pictures

Here are a few of Andrew's 12 month pictures. Shelly did a great job! Andrew had a hard time saying still for these pictures. He was really in the mood to explore her studio.

Busy Boy

Andrew has been a very busy boy these past few weeks. Sometimes it seems like he learns how to do things overnight. One thing he is very proud to announce is that he only uses sippy cups. We struggled on this one for a couple months. We tried many different styles and brands. He finally found one that he liked! No more bottles! YAY!! We also made the switch to whole milk after his 12 month appointment. We did that cold turkey and he did great. I am sure some of you may know how great it is not buying formula anymore!

We are still trying all kinds of new foods. Andrew has become a little picky now that he is a toddler. His favorites are chicken nuggets, waffles, pancakes, applesauce, and yogurt. He seriously dislikes any vegetables. I still try to sneak in veggies, but don't tell him. He does pretty well with a fork, but we are still working on getting the food on the fork.

He also took his first two steps by himself!! We were so excited. The only problem was that he never did it again. We still went out and bought him a new pair of shoes from Stride Rite. Thanks Grandma and G-Pa Creason!! Hopefully the walking thing will come soon.

He is starting to say a few words now too. He can say truck, star, dog, Grace, light, book, milk, Mama, and Dada. He doesn't say these words perfectly and it might be that Mark and I have started to understand "his" language a little better. He can also bark like a dog (arf) and make a truck sound.

Here are a couple more pictures of him since Christmas.

I will keep you updated on the walking...
