Lucas 3 Months

These pictures put a huge smile on my face! Lucas is such a happy baby. I mean look at that face!! Time is flying by as usual. So many times I just stare at Lucas all cuddled up in my arms. I just want to freeze time with my boys, but that is a whole other blog post. I know I will be the creepy Mom in the book Love You Forever. Back to Lucas...
This big guy is weighing in at 17lbs and he is 25in!!! No Dr appointments this month. He is wearing size 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes. He is still wearing size 2 diapers but I think we are getting close to switching to size 3. He is eating 6 bottles of about 4-5oz in a day.
Best news of the third month is...HE SLEEPS through the night!!! We usually feed him before we go to bed and then he sleeps until about 7:30! It is wonderful. He still naps randomly throughout the day between most feedings. He loves his swing, activity mat, and loves to stare at his fists. He smiles all of the time and started laughing this month! I love hearing him laugh and coo.
Already a colts fan!! He loves to watch football with us.
Hates tummy time, which is hard to believe looking at this picture. He can hold his head up well on his tummy.
Love watching him sleep
Andrew can't get enough of Lucas
Andrew told me that he would hold Lucas while I got ready. I think Thomas the Train was a little more interesting.
That sleeper is a little on the small side...
The last thing about month three is that he lost almost all of his hair on the top of his head! Crazy because he was born with so much hair.

Next month we get to start rice cereal...

A Pink Labor Day Weekend

The reason why I called this a pink Labor Day Weekend is that Mark's mom was just diagnosed with ductal carcinoma which is breast cancer. Mark and I were so upset to hear the news!! You always hear stories about things like this but of course when it becomes your story it is never the same! I am so glad that they were able to come out over Labor Day weekend because we probably will not see them again until the holidays. Mema was scheduled to have a lumpectomy the Friday after their visit. The best part about me always being so behind on blog posts is that she has already had her surgery and they were able to get it all. She will have radiation for 6-8 weeks to be on the safe side. We were so excited to hear this and I know she is pretty happy too. God is so good!!! We are so thankful for this outcome. I will continue to keep you, as Mema would say, "abreast" on the situation. Prayers are appreciated :)

We had a great visit with them over Labor Day. Sometimes news like this really helps you appreciate the time spent with family and friends. We always enjoy our visits with them but this one seemed a little more special. On Friday we tried a restaurant in Indy that we have heard so many good things about, Bazbeaux Pizza. We really enjoyed it. They have a lot of fun pizza. The food was good and reasonably priced. Lucas didn't really love his experience. He wanted to be held the entire night. We all had to take turns keeping him happy.

The rest of the weekend we grilled out on our new grill!! We love it! We had to get rid of our grill this spring because it was getting pretty rough. We never got around to getting another one this summer until now! Andrew had a blast playing with Mema and Papa!! Lucas enjoyed his cuddles with them too. Papa and I decided we are going to have a little weight loss challenge too. I need some motivation to lose the rest of this baby weight and he said he wanted to drop a couple pounds. We will see how that goes but I will say he is off to a good start!!

Andrew loves playing on Mema's phone.
Love those blue eyes!

Lucas 2 Months

This little guy is growing like crazy!! Last week he had his two month check up. He weighs 14 lbs 12 oz 90th percentile and he was 24 1/4in 95th percentile!! He is a big boy. He is over a pound bigger than Andrew was at two months. He is wearing size 3 month clothes now and size 1 diapers. I can't believe it has been two months already, but at the same time I cannot picture life without him.

At about 5 weeks he started sleeping in his crib. He loves to sleep in his crib, which is awesome! We swaddle him at night, but leave his arms out. He usually sleeps about a 5 to 6.5 hour stretch at night which is great. He is usually pretty easy to get back to sleep after he eats. I really think we lucked out in the sleep department with him.

He is eating every 3 hours during the day. He has moved up to eating about 5oz each time. I say about because sometimes he will eat 4 but sometimes 6. At about 8 weeks we started offering him 6 oz because he would finish the 5 oz bottle. He is kind of a lazy eater. He takes about 30 minutes to finish a bottle. He uses a paci occasionally to fall asleep, but doesn't seem to need it at night.

He started smiling this past month!! I love to see his smile because it is so cute!! He has started cooing too. I love it! He loves to be talked to and loves playing on his activity mat. He is not a huge fan of tummy time. When I put him on his tummy he just tries to fall asleep.

Andrew still loves Lucas so much. I just want time to slow down so I can enjoy these boys more! Here are some pictures from the last month.

Andrew's First Day Back to School

Last week Andrew went back to school. He was so excited! He was a little unsure of his new teachers, but he already seems adjusted. He loves having his friend JJ in his class this year. He was so excited for school both days and I love that he enjoys it so much. Can't believe how big my first baby is getting.

How Much Do They Really Look Alike??

I am getting a ton of people telling me that Lucas looks just like Andrew. They definitely look like brothers and maybe even twins!! In these two pictures they definitely look alike, but I think they still have their differences. When Andrew was born everyone told me how much he looked like Mark and everyone tells me that Lucas looks just like me. Who knows?? I tried to find pictures that were similar. It looks like Lucas is a little bit bigger than Andrew. The pictures are taken around the same ages too.

Andrew 6 weeks
Lucas 5 weeks

The funny part about the next picture is that Andrew is 2 weeks older and Lucas looks so much bigger than Andrew.

Andrew 9 weeks
Lucas 7 weeks

A Little Trip to the Children's Museum

My friend Merrin was so nice to invite us to the Children Museum. She has a family pass and was able to get us in for free. Andrew had a blast! He loves hanging out with his friend Blair. We might need to get a pass to the museum because Andrew enjoyed it more than I thought he would.

We always have to get a picture in the Indy car
Love these boys!!

First Baseball Game as a Family of 4

We made it to an Indians game as a family of four!! A couple weeks ago we decided to venture out and try a baseball game. We had so much fun and Lucas did great. The games are very family friendly and we sat in the upper section that isn't very crowded. We took Lucas in my new ergo carrier and that worked much better than worrying about a stroller.

I love my boys!!

Of course, Andrew had to track down Rowdy!!

I promise Lucas is somewhere in there! Thanks Mema and Papa for the carrier! I love it!
Andrew also got a chance to run the bases after the game. I wasn't sure if he would actually do it because the parents aren't allowed to go with them. He did it!! It was one of those proud Mommy moments. He looked like such a big boy! I almost lost it. I just can't believe how fast he is growing up. Here is a video of it. He is the little guy in the red shirt.
