Lucas 4 Months

Well, here we are at 4 months!! Little Lucas isn't so little anymore. He really was only little his first month and then he became the giant baby that he is now. We had our four month appointment on Thursday and everything is going great!! He is 19lbs 10oz and 27 1/4 in!! His weight, height, and head are all above the 98th percentile!! The Dr said that he is just a big baby. Big is right because Andrew wasn't this size until he was 6 months old. Lucas had two shots and did pretty well. He was pretty fussy the rest of the day. The Dr said we can start rice cereal and baby food. Be on the look out for a rice cereal post. I think I am going to hold off on the baby food for a little bit. At the beginning of the month he switched to eating 5 times a day which is great!! He eats 6 oz at each feeding.

Lucas has done some exciting things this past month. First thing is he started rolling over!! He rolls from his belly to his back. He is so strong on his tummy now. He does very well sitting supported. He has also been spending some time in his exersaucer in the last few weeks. He loves his brother!! He is always wanting to see what Andrew is doing and loves it when Andrew talks to him. He also loves Peek A Boo!! His laugh is so cute!! I love hearing it.

He is still in 6-12 month or 9 month size clothing!! He will probably be able to wear some of Andrew's 12 month winter clothes this winter! Crazy!! He is now in size 3 diapers. I wish my baby boy would slow down a little in the growing department! I feel like I have a 9 month old but he is only 4 months. Here are some cute pictures from the last month.

Andrew is such an amazing big brother!!

Already sitting in his brother's chair.

This little guy is an amazing sleeper!! He sleeps solid through the night and doesn't get up until about 7:45 or 8:00. When he does wake up he is happy to just lay in his crib until someone comes to get him. Naps are still random throughout the day.
Lucas and Alissa!! So cute!
Another fun fact about Lucas is that he doesn't take a paci. This is all new to me because Andrew LOVED his paci. Lucas does love eating his fingers. He also loves to hold his hands over his face when eats. He likes to hold on to blankies or his burp cloths.
Lucas and Ty
Love those eyes!!
Already a colts fan!
Lucas has started holding toys. He loves to hold the little rings in his hands and stare at them.

That smile and those cheeks get me every time!!
The most exciting news from this past month has to be that his hair is growing back!!!

Apple Orchard X 4

We had our annual trip to the apple orchard, but this time as a family of four. We took our trip with the Johnston Family again this year. Bev and I took a photography 101 class a few months back, so we were trying to practice a little with the cameras. I guess I shouldn't say "we" were trying to practice, "I" was trying to practice. Bev is already really good at taking pics.

The boys had a blast picking apples and climbing the trees, typical boys. Lucas just kind of hung out in the carrier and enjoyed the walk around. Andrew loves spending time with Case and Ty!! I really hope our boys stay friends. These pics will be great to pull out when they are older :)

Love these boys!!
We aren't too bad at taking pictures of ourselves.
This one is a framer
Happy baby!!

Quaker Day Parade

Last month we took the boys to their first parade. Clearly we are slackers because our 3 month old and 3 year old shared their first experience together. As many of you probably know the mascot for the school district is a Quaker. Awesome! I know! The college I went to also had a Quaker as the mascot. I can't get away from it!! Either way we went to the parade and Andrew loved it. Here are a few pictures.

Lucas 3 Months

These pictures put a huge smile on my face! Lucas is such a happy baby. I mean look at that face!! Time is flying by as usual. So many times I just stare at Lucas all cuddled up in my arms. I just want to freeze time with my boys, but that is a whole other blog post. I know I will be the creepy Mom in the book Love You Forever. Back to Lucas...
This big guy is weighing in at 17lbs and he is 25in!!! No Dr appointments this month. He is wearing size 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes. He is still wearing size 2 diapers but I think we are getting close to switching to size 3. He is eating 6 bottles of about 4-5oz in a day.
Best news of the third month is...HE SLEEPS through the night!!! We usually feed him before we go to bed and then he sleeps until about 7:30! It is wonderful. He still naps randomly throughout the day between most feedings. He loves his swing, activity mat, and loves to stare at his fists. He smiles all of the time and started laughing this month! I love hearing him laugh and coo.
Already a colts fan!! He loves to watch football with us.
Hates tummy time, which is hard to believe looking at this picture. He can hold his head up well on his tummy.
Love watching him sleep
Andrew can't get enough of Lucas
Andrew told me that he would hold Lucas while I got ready. I think Thomas the Train was a little more interesting.
That sleeper is a little on the small side...
The last thing about month three is that he lost almost all of his hair on the top of his head! Crazy because he was born with so much hair.

Next month we get to start rice cereal...

A Pink Labor Day Weekend

The reason why I called this a pink Labor Day Weekend is that Mark's mom was just diagnosed with ductal carcinoma which is breast cancer. Mark and I were so upset to hear the news!! You always hear stories about things like this but of course when it becomes your story it is never the same! I am so glad that they were able to come out over Labor Day weekend because we probably will not see them again until the holidays. Mema was scheduled to have a lumpectomy the Friday after their visit. The best part about me always being so behind on blog posts is that she has already had her surgery and they were able to get it all. She will have radiation for 6-8 weeks to be on the safe side. We were so excited to hear this and I know she is pretty happy too. God is so good!!! We are so thankful for this outcome. I will continue to keep you, as Mema would say, "abreast" on the situation. Prayers are appreciated :)

We had a great visit with them over Labor Day. Sometimes news like this really helps you appreciate the time spent with family and friends. We always enjoy our visits with them but this one seemed a little more special. On Friday we tried a restaurant in Indy that we have heard so many good things about, Bazbeaux Pizza. We really enjoyed it. They have a lot of fun pizza. The food was good and reasonably priced. Lucas didn't really love his experience. He wanted to be held the entire night. We all had to take turns keeping him happy.

The rest of the weekend we grilled out on our new grill!! We love it! We had to get rid of our grill this spring because it was getting pretty rough. We never got around to getting another one this summer until now! Andrew had a blast playing with Mema and Papa!! Lucas enjoyed his cuddles with them too. Papa and I decided we are going to have a little weight loss challenge too. I need some motivation to lose the rest of this baby weight and he said he wanted to drop a couple pounds. We will see how that goes but I will say he is off to a good start!!

Andrew loves playing on Mema's phone.
Love those blue eyes!
