Lucas 5 Months

Its already that time again and I am late posting.  This baby is growing way too fast for me.  He is 21 lbs and 26 inches long.  His length is funny to me because last month he was 27 1/4 inches long.  Clearly the nurse over measured or I am doing something wrong because I know he didn't shrink.  His next appointment is in January so we will see what they say.  Over the past month Lucas has continued to sleep so well through the night!  He is still all over the place with naps.

He still eats five six ounce bottles per day and we started rice cereal.  He loves it!!  We are only feeding him once a day.  Its a lot harder to fit in the baby food with baby #2.  He also started some baby food.  We started with peas and he loved them after a few bites.  It is no surprise this baby loves his food!!  Then we moved to sweet potatoes.  I don't think the sweet potatoes sat very well with him.  He was very grumpy and had some belly issues.  We decided to stop baby food for a little while.  He clearly doesn't need the extra calories so we thought we would hold off until six months.

About to try the rice cereal...so serious

A little messy at first

He learned to love it!

Trying baby food (peas) for the first time, not so sure at first.

Lucas loves to put his hands in his mouth right after he takes a bite.

Lucas is still loving the exersaucer and he loves playing with his feet.  He still doesn't roll over a ton, but he can do it.  He loves patty cake and twinkle, twinkle little star.  He is still mesmerized by his brother and Andrew still loves Lucas so much. It is great watching them interact with each other.

Who's turning 4?? We are!!

It's that time of year again...all of the kids in the playgroup are turning 4!! We decided to do it at Chuck E Cheese again because the kids love it. As always the kids had a blast. It is so crazy how fast these kids are growing up and how much I love hanging out with their Moms!! I can say that starting this playgroup was such a huge blessing.

It is getting so hard to get a group picture!!

Present time!!

I think they enjoyed the cupcakes!!

Happy Halloween in Novemeber!!

Halloween happened a day late around Indy. Most places postponed trick or treat because the weather was bad on Halloween. I was pretty happy about that because I was not going to take the kids out in the pouring rain. Andrew was able to trick or treat at school on Halloween. Bev also had the kids in our play group over on Wednesday and had fun Halloween activities.

My pirate and parrot!!
Most of the kids in their costumes.
So cute!
Doing a little cookie decorating
What kind of party would it be if there were no cupcakes!

We also carved a pumpkin on Monday. Andrew was pretty excited to do it and then was over it after about 10 minutes. Daddy carved the pumpkin and Andrew was pretty excited to see the finished product.

Not too excited to touch the pumpkin goo

Then we got over it

For trick or treat we went around the neighborhood. Andrew had a great time with his friend Asher! The boys went for about an hour and a half. Lucas was a trooper. He was a little fussy in the beginning but then he fell asleep.

Andrew had the pirate face down

Attempt #1 at a family shot

Attempt #2...We used to be really good at this when we were in England.

These two crack me up!!

It's Pumpkin Time...

...and no I don't mean pumpkin lattes!!  Just for the record I do not like anything pumpkin.  I have really tried but it is just gross to me.  I will stick to my mocha lattes for the holidays.  Thought you guys would like a fun fact about me :)

Back to the pumpkin excitement.  We finally got ourselves some pumpkins.  We took two trips out to the pumpkin patch.  That is dedication!!  Our first trip was as a family and we also had Grandma join us.  We decided to try out this new pumpkin patch I had heard of and boy was that a mistake.  They did have a few pumpkins and a little market but not what I had pictured.  We did get out of the car to make sure we weren't missing something and we definitely weren't missing any thing.  We decided to get back in the car and go to another place.  We ended up at the apple orchard we went to at the beginning of the month.  We picked out a pumpkin and some more apples.  The boys were not in the best mood because we kind of went during nap time.  Oh well, right, we got our pumpkin.

Spending time with Grandma!

Can someone please tell me why my 4 month old looks about the same size as my almost 4 year old?!

The other trip was with our play group.  We did a little hayride last year so we decided to do the same this year.  Last year it rained and this year it was freezing!!  By freezing I mean in the 30s!  This trip was a little bit of work for me because I had both kids to keep warm and happy.  We survived...barely!  We went on the hayride and picked out our pumpkins.  After that we went to Starbucks to warm up and so I could get some coffee :) One of the guys that worked there let Andrew decorate a pumpkin.  It ended up being a pretty good day!
